CCARC’s 2026 Spring meeting is scheduled for April 18, 2026 from 1-3 PM via zoom.  The agenda and invite for the meeting is attached.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.
We will be voting for Secretary, Frequency Coordinator and Chairman.

Chairman:  Preside over meetings, develop direction to the Council and ensure fairness in all of our policies.  We have had a long succession of very reliable Chairpersons and are glad to solicit new candidates.  The current Chairman is willing to assist in on-the-job-training for new candidates so there should be no concern that something is not known!

Frequency Coordinator:  This is the single most important task in the organization and is the gatekeeper for the very finite resources known as frequency allocations for the amateur community.  This person’s ethics, reliability and technical abilities are very important.  The current acting Frequency Coordinator has been very willing to support new candidates and encourage anyone that is interested!

Secretary:  The Corporate Secretary ensures compliance in CCARC’s written word, compiles minutes for the meetings and ensures that we meet the regulatory requirements that the Federal Government and State impose on us from time to time.  This position is extremely important and not something that we can live without!

Our current agenda:

At this time, we have three candidates for Secretary, so please be prepared to select your candidate and vote at the meeting.  Your delegate will need to have a login on the CCARC Coordination Portal and be registered as the delegate before this meeting starts in order to vote.  It’s very difficult to do this at the same time as the meeting, so make sure you have your logins set up and delegates changed via the portal.

Our three candidates have submitted quick bios for the membership in no specific order:

Diana Nordstrom, N7DLN
I would like to throw my hat into the ring for CCARC Secretary.
I have been a HAM license holder since 2002 and active in Colorado clubs since 2009. I am a current member and board member of Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association (PPRAA) and have previously held the position of Secretary on the board.
I am also the current Secretary for the ARRL Rocky Mountain Division Convention Committee and have been since the 2016 Convention. I have been representing PPRAA to the convention since 2013.
Most Colorado HAMs would recognize me as the one making sure they have raffle tickets for Megafest at the area Hamfests and in one memorable case, delivering their prize in person.
I have recently upgraded to Amateur Extra (November 2025!) and am looking forward to being more involved in advancing Ham Radio as a hobby.
Thank you for the consideration,
Diana Nordstrom

Bryce Boyer, KF0QLS

My name is Bryce Boyer, KF0QLS.
I earned my Technician license in May 2024 and upgraded to General later that year. Since then, I have taken an active leadership role in the Pueblo West Amateur Radio Club (NA0PW), where I currently serve as Vice President. I am also an active member of ARES R5D2, covering Pueblo and Huerfano Counties.
My approach to amateur radio is informed by over 30 years of leadership in the Pueblo Fire Department. As a retired first responder, I have managed complex teams and high-stakes operations at both local and regional levels. In 2019, I was appointed to the Colorado Fire Commission, where I continue to represent the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters. These roles have given me extensive experience in organizational governance, policy development, and inter-agency advocacy.
Throughout my career, my primary focus has been cross-disciplinary communication. I’ve seen firsthand that technology is only as effective as the leadership and coordination behind it. Since joining the amateur radio community, I have been inspired by the spirit of mentorship and technical service I’ve found here. I am committed to maintaining the health of this hobby by ensuring our organizations are well-managed and forward-thinking.
As a member of the CCARC, I aim to apply my background in executive leadership and emergency management to benefit the council. I am eager to contribute to the strategic growth of the organization, and, to that end, I am officially submitting my name for consideration as a member of the Board.
73,
Bryce Boyer, KF0QLS

Bryan Wheeler, KB9UZO
I would like to formally express my interest in serving as Secretary of the Colorado Council of Amateur Radio Clubs, Inc. (CCARC), as announced on the CCARC website in the October 12th call for candidates.
Amateur Radio has been a part of my family for generations. My grandfather was among the very early repeater builders in Illinois during the 1960s, and his passion for communication technology deeply influenced me. I first became licensed in the 1990s, actively involved with SkyWarn and ARES/RACES activities, and later earned my General-class license in 2019.
Professionally, my background is in aviation maintenance and public safety. I’ve worked for two decades as an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic in multiple roles beyond the wrench — including lead, supervisory, and management positions — concurrently with twelve years in the fire service. Both careers demanded attention to technical detail, procedural compliance, and leadership accountability — all skills directly applicable to maintaining accurate records, procedural integrity, and transparency in an organization such as CCARC.
As a firefighter, I personally responded to several emergencies involving Amateur Radio operators and have seen firsthand the consequences when reliable communication is missing — when cellular and radio coverage fail at the moments they’re needed most. Those experiences left a lasting impression on me and strengthened my belief that effective coordination and dependable communication infrastructure save lives.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have operated independently in aviation return-to-service maintenance and serve as a senior technical advisor for several major air carriers, continuing to focus on safety, technical understanding, documentation, and quality assurance.
As the Chairman of the Eastern Colorado Repeater Association (ECRA), I’ve seen firsthand how clear, reliable, and resilient communication — supported by structured documentation, transparency, and fair coordination practices — enables organizations, clubs, and individual operators to work together effectively.
My goal as Secretary would be to uphold and strengthen the CCARC’s mission through accuracy, openness, and timely communication, ensuring that all individuals and stakeholders feel represented and well-informed.
I believe my technical and organizational experience, combined with proven leadership and a strong ethical foundation, would be of real value to the Council and to the Colorado amateur radio community as a whole.
My father’s advice has guided me throughout my career(s): “Always do the right things for the right reasons.” That principle continues to motivate me to contribute to CCARC’s growth, fairness, and integrity.
Please confirm receipt of this nomination, and if possible, advise on the formal nomination process and upcoming election timeline. I would be happy to provide any additional information, letters of public support, or references that may be helpful.
Thank you for your consideration and for the service you provide to Colorado’s Amateur Radio community.
Respectfully,
Bryan Wheeler, KB9UZO
