Boulder Amateur Radio Club (BARC)
Boulder Amateur Radio Club is one of the oldest at 55 years, if not the oldest ham radio club in the State of Colorado and likely one of the largest at nearly 200 members and most active and creative clubs. From their many analog repeaters in the area to their new D-STAR system they try to stay with the technology.
They've invested heavily in
promoting the hobby to kids with their BARC Juniors club by
promoting Amateur Radio to children from the ages of 6 to 18
years. Their youth program meets weekly, eleven months per
year and through the efforts of the Elmers involved has licensed
over 180 new young hams in the past 16 years. Barc Juniors
are known worldwide, and their young representatives annually
appear at the Dayton Youth Forum.
The BARC Junior program is recognized as one of the largest and most successful young ham programs in the nation.
