Colorado D-Star Award Letter
March 22, 2008

Mr. Steve Cohan,

Colorado D-Star Association:

Dear Steve:

The D-Star Proposal Review Committee met on March 21st, 2008 to review the proposals submitted in response to the CCARC/HRO RFP.  I am pleased to inform you that the bid submitted by the Colorado D-Star Association has been selected as the winner.  On behalf of Ham Radio Outlet and the Colorado Council of Amateur Radio Clubs: congratulations!  The winning margin was extremely close and the committee was impressed with all of the submitted proposals.  You will be contacted in the near future to work out the specifics of putting the D-Star systems on the air.

The primary goals of the CCARC’s participation in this effort were to spur the use of Digital Amateur Radio technology on Colorado’s Front Range and to encourage groups to work together for the current and future benefit of Amateur Radio in Colorado. Your group has already demonstrated a cooperative effort and is encouraged to take the lead in reaching out to other Amateur Radio organizations to help create a statewide digital radio network.

HRO will award the equipment to a representative of your organization at the CCARC Spring meeting to be held at the Silverthorne Public Library, Silverthorne, Colorado at 1:00 PM on April 26, 2008.  We look forward to your attendance and to working with Colorado D-Star in the future.

73,

Tim Armagost, WBØTUB                                    John Thomson, N5EHP
Chairman, CCARC                                             Ham Radio Outlet
